I founded and organize the Directed Reading Program at the University of Houston. Every semester we pair undergraduate students with graduate students to read about a topic that they either will not encounter in their undergraduate curriculumn or simply want to study for future research opportunities. At the end of the semester, the mentees present at our DRP Undergraduate Colloquium on their topics to give themselves an opportunity to experience giving technical talks. If you are interested, feel free to e-mail me! Pictured is one of our mentees Daniel Varay giving a talk on dynamical systems.
I currently serve as the Treasurer for the student chapter of SIAM at the University of Houston where we help organize events to educate graduate students on career paths for mathematicians.
From 2018 to 2021 I was the coach for the Sharpstown High School UIL Mathematics Team. We competed in the Number Sense and Mathematics competitions and consistently won medals at every competition including the annual District championship and TMSCA. Pictured is my team after our first UIL District competition at Wisdom High School where we received second place in Math and Number Sense with several individual medalists as well.
